After market suspenion removal question

Hi guys
This is probably a stupid question but as i havn't removed this kind of suspension i thought i had better ask.
Can somebody please tell me what is securing the part in the pic below to the rear arm? I can't see anything obvious and don't want to damage it.

normally just a dome shape ,that the spring sits on ?that was all that was on mine ?

here is a random guess -
does the purple section need to be unthreaded first? maybe thats what those indents in the lower section are for same way you undo a fuel pump - i am guessing that in fitment the process of threading the purple part down the black part clamps something underneath in a similar fashion hose pipe connectors work.

I am probably TOTALY wrong though

Its still solidly on there with the adjuster removed mate but nice try

wot was ontop of that, just a spring ?just looks like a spring compressor? is the rubber pad still underneath it ?it may just be rusted onto the metal dome ?

Spadge, on the H+R set up i took off the B6 , the lower part was secured by 3 tiny allen bolts, acting as grub screws gripping onto the spring perch. The first one snapped my allen socket so i then proceeded with some tyre levers and WD40 , they succumbed to my caveman tactict eventually.
If the c0ck that had initially fitted them had thought to put copperslip or waxoil on the bolts it wouldn't have been a problem

Chris - The spring sits on top of the adjuster a bit like a coil over but without the shocker running through the middle.

Pete - No allen bolts on these and i've taken one arm out already with it still attached so i'll try your more brutal way tomorrow lol

Probably jammed onto the dome from the weight of the car (maybe a pothole or 2 has hammered it on), attack it with some leverage and she should shift
