managed to cure the temp gauge but not the rev counter by changing batteries in the si board
so was stuck
i ordered a aftermarket rpm gauge from ebay and today finally got round to wiring it up
done a quick wiring check before hand with the tacho just laying in the 325 front battery tray
one wire to coil -
one the car car
one to a permanant live(remember was just testing)
rev counter worked fine
jumped in car gave it some revs and let it warm thru (hasnt been run for two weeks)...thinking now where can i mount this new gauge
and decided mount it over/in front of the old one is best
might as well as it dosnt work anyway eh
so ran all wiring thru car connected it up
two self tappers up into dash hood/cowel
and started the car yep working great
just what i need for this trackday
now heres the funny part
at that very time for the first time since buying this car
flicking away right behind the new aftermarket one.............................
the original rev counter has just started to work
whats the cvhances of that?
i assumed maybe somehow
ive sent a back feed thru this new gauge and somehow made the circuit for the stock one
so ive dissed the aftermarket one
yet the factory one still works!
this is madder than a mad thing from madland
so if anyone has a broken rpm gauge
just borrow this aftermarket one wire it up sit back relax and watch your bmw one start to work again
for sale magic rev counter curing device..offers! lol
