Does anyone know if the hood cover on the cabby should hold itself up as mine doesn't. There is a couple of small hydralic boot lifters but they don't seem to do anything (obviously).

The original parts are still readily available from BMW. From memory about £30 the pair. I'll check up and confirm for you.

I've heard that seat rams can also work which are a damn site cheaper if you strip a seat down in the breakers!

Cheers Lads.

I'll pop down the scrappy tommorow.

I'm getting a bit tired of holding the hood cover up with my sholder whilst trying to get the hood out.

Seat ones do indeed work :) They're chunkier too, so will last ages even though they won't be new...

I'll be in Llan on Sunday btw - annoyingly not in the E30 though!

All sorted after a bit of farting around trying to compress the slightly longer seat hydraulic lifters.
Works a treat now top tip. :D

Cheers.

What about the locating holes Greeny? Are they bigger on the seat rams than the original parts?
