Hi Guys,

Ever since i lowered my car with H&R Sports, i've been getting this rear end clunking.. it usually happens when going over speed humps, or during some spirited driving.
What i also noticed is that when driving with a load, the rear end clunks when turning, pot holes, speed humps, even going in a damn straight line.
Just installed new rear mounts and pads... what you guys reckon, subframe bushes ? trailing arm ?
Could a worn diff bush cause this ?

Impossible to say for sure without hearing it but common causes are subframe bushes, as you say, and rear damper top mounts - and these are cheap and easy to repair!

rear top mounts is a good one, had to replace them to myself, easy stuff, to check just pull back the inner lining of each side of your boot

Edit just re-read your post  ok could be an alsortment of bushes

open the boot, pull back the carpets to reveal the top of the suspension mounts, stand on the bumper and jump up and down, if the clunk comes from the top of the shock absorber moving up and down (its normally visible) then easy to fix (you can unbolt it and stick a couple of washers in there for a quick fix  ) my sport quick fix still good after 4 years

Got a similar problem at the moment too....I've replaced the rear top mounts with uprated ones, got the exhaust sorted, all new rubbers and wot not, got the tracking done....still got the noise

I think it may well be the sub-frame bushes, not too sure tho' as I had these replaced early last year too :?

Gave up in the end, it's going to the garage tomorrow
