Hi. Anyone know what the widest wheels/tyres are that will go on the rear of an E30 and also what widest would be for front?

Off hand would an 9" wide rim with say, 235/40 tyres tuck in the arches without rubage?

Who's got the fattest tryes on this site? Any pics?

Thanks

235 40 17 will not fit without rubbing.
I tried it a few years ago on alpina reps.It doesnt actualy catch the arch lip ,but the actual inside of the rear quarter panel.
You may get away with it if the back end is up high.So id say no,not on standard arches.

Also, you say E30,im assuming you mean a normal e30 and not an m3.As i think it would fit on an m3.

Ok thanks buster - anyone tried 225/40 tyres?

How much are you lowered by buster? What offset were the wheels that you tried?

mate i got 16 x 9 on the back with 225/40 tyres toyos and they are right in line when you look down the side of the car, but i did have to grind the inner lip away as much as you can to get them to rub less, they also can catch the innerwing just above the flared part of the arch, but my left side is fine but the right still catches now and again, and im running out of lip. but well worth it!!!!
just gota be patient, and keep taking the bloody wheel off hundrds of times!!!!!!!!!!!!
