Dash lights have gone - never had that happen before (and no, they're not just dimmed...).

If it's not the fuse, how the bejeezuz do you get to the bulb? (318iS) Cheers.

Orpheus - pull the lamp and holder out of the rear ashtray, pull off the brown/white connector and connect it to the body of the car with the sidelights on.
If the dash lights then light at full brightness, then the problem is the dimmer unit in the headlamop switch
Fuse 23 is the relavent fuse by the way, but if it had failed the right side sidelights wouldn't work either.
There are several dash and instrument illumination lamps, some easy to get at and some nigh impossible. If you tell us where the dark patches are, we'll tell you how to get at the relevent ones.
