Hi,a mate of mine has just had his master cylinder fail and have been told it has to go to an "expert" due to the car having abs. Can it just be replaced and bled through one of the calipers? Cheers, Pete.

No expert work is needed, just swap the master cylinder and bleed through all of the calipers.
Not sure of there is a bleeding sequence though.

Abs shouldn't cause any problem as long as you bleed the brakes thoroughly before activating the ABS.
If air gets inside the ABS unit it can be difficult to get rid of, without a machine to manually activate the solenoids.
You should get away with bleeding one front and one rear caliper, but it would be worth doing the other two as well, so as to do a complete fluid change.

Cheers guys, just as I thought apart from the full fluid change at the same time. Makes total sense. Pete.
