***Oily Spark Plugs***

Hi, i've just purchased an engine (Mtec I) which seems to have oily spark plugs.

Any idea what this means as spark plugs tend to indicate the condition of the engine.

Its likely to be your valve stem seals; head of job to replace im afraid although it could also be piston rings; how much oil are we talking?

Is there oil on the plug threads? If so, then it might be leaking through the rocker cover gasket?
