Hi. My cab is a 325i a/t tourer. It's got a ride-leveller on its rear suspension. Can anyone explain to me how this system works? And why not all aftermarket shocks can be used with this system? :? Thanks.

Its a hydraulic system fed by the pas pump and so the shock absorbers are different

ive got one of these systems on my car it seems the previous owners had it fitted as they were caravaners, it has a small pressure gauge in the boot next to a connection for an airline so the ride hide and suspension can be adjusted when your towing some thing (to stop it breaking its back so to say) i think mines made by monroe.

Hmmm. Bilstein have touring shock replacement. Not so sure if it's a leveler, though.

Do you have cylinders on the floor of your spare wheel well, under a domed cover?
You'll have to remove the spare wheel to check.
