Hi all,
I have just bought my first (but not last) BMW. I wonder which engine sits on/in it. I just experienced the obviously well known vacumleak (I have read a 1000 threads in here since I got the car 1 month ago) and now I have to order a new rubberhose among other things to get me started.
It's a 1988 316i and I don't know if its the m10 or m40 engine.
I took a picture of the hose earlyer.. can anyone tell me which engine it is?

The air intake is on the left by the side of the engine obviously, and there is a number on the intake which I think was 1342 or something like that.

Pete don't care about colour, He would shag a rainbow if he could find the end of it....

OK thanks gentlemen. I will order it from our "only" BMW parts dealer here in Denmark
Wish I had the same opportunities as you guys have for aftermarket stuff and tuning and race tracks and low custom and.. and... and....
