Hi,

Got a wierd one....

car is gen v well behaved, however last few days the revs tend to stay high with the accelerator, ie if i accelerate to 4000, they'll stay that high until i tap the pedal... and mean TAP not depress at all, and then it returns to 800-1000!

Any clues... sticky throttle?

could be a sticky throttle, mine was doing the same thing but not quite as extreme. it would rev to 1500 rpm and i had to pull the pedal back to get the revsa to drop down to normal. sprayed some gt85 all over the throttle linkage and a bit on pedal linkage and all is lovely again.

i kept getting funny looks at traffic light when i pulled up and put the car in neutral the thing would be sitting there revving away to itself. i aimed the can at the throttle spring whilst opening and closing it and a bit on the other bits connected to it and it was fine straight away
