ok heres the deal i took off the exhaust, unbolted the drive shaft took out the broken housing. my problem is, the pin that connects the end to the tranny mount, well i managed to get it off, but theres not enough room to get it back on! the pin has a clip on it the has to go over top the one side and the pushed down to be locked, i cant get it back over the one side of the tranny mount. has anyone replaced one before??? do i have to lower the tranny a bit for more room and wont that cause too much pressure oin the bell housing?? any replies would be greatly appreciated

Stick a jack under the back of the gearbox, unscrew the
gearbox crossmember nuts and drop the jack an inch.
You've done the hard bit, getting the clip off.
