Can anyone tell me if it's a big job to get headlight wipers fixed/working on a touring? Oh, and what about noisey windscreen wiper motor?
Cheers.

The long output shaft is seized on the headlamp wiper motors.Remove from car, dismantle, clean, grease, reassemble. Good for another 15 years. Use the search function.
"Noisey" wiper motor is a new one, but the usual old hard grease is probably it.
Again, use the search function, or look in the tech articles.

If it has a switch, it's pulling the wiper stalk.E30Mark wrote:It does... push the end of the wiper stalk...Brianmoooore wrote:Doesn't have a switch!dobbie82 wrote:may be an idea to test the switch first? maybe an easy fix?
The headlamp washer controller counts the normal screenwash useage. Intensive wash isn't counted.

If they've never been serviced, then they quite likely don't work, but they are easily brought back to life.E30Mark wrote:to be honest i've never seen any working! might have to go outside and see if they work on the tourer... if they do i'll sell them on!
I've only ever come across one I couldn't fix, and that was because water had got it and rusted right through the motor case.
I certainly wouldn't remove them. They are very effective at cleaning up the headlamps, giving a very noticeable increase in light when they operate.

I can't see the car they are fitted to going back on the road really... might just break it up and put the monies towards my megasquirt project!Brianmoooore wrote:If they've never been serviced, then they quite likely don't work, but they are easily brought back to life.E30Mark wrote:to be honest i've never seen any working! might have to go outside and see if they work on the tourer... if they do i'll sell them on!
