come to fit my new dif and ive got it jacked up where its supposed to go and done the bolts on the prop up to support the weight aswell. i pushed the prop in as far as it goes but the bolts on the side nearer the front ( one either side) wont line up with the casing bit that comes off the subframe? really struggling with it.
any help would be great cheers.

Last diff I fitted was an E28 one into an E30, and I was convinced half way through that the bolt spacing was different. All lined up nicely though once it was forced into place. Diff preload adjustment is the last thing you do on the centre bearing mounts, after setting the prop length and tightening the clamp nut.

All the bolt holes do line up when the diff is right up in place. Prop adjustments are covered quite well in the Haynes manual, which is available somewhere on line as a pdf. Link was given in a thread a few days ago.
