how accurate are oem diagrams

My exhaust front section for my 325i tourer . the pipes go into a single diamond shape join at the manifold .On the oem diagrams only the 1600 and 1800 have this and on the bigger engined models the pipes have there own triangular shaped joins . Is this a diagram error or do i have the wrong exhaust.

ETK diagrams are for identifying parts only. The same diagram is often used for totally physically different parts.
