2.5 diff on my 316i

i have just been offered a 325i c reg and was wondering about putting the diff on my 316i?? is the 2.5 diff a lsd?
also i have a 318i engine to put into my 316i does anyone know if its just a straight swap?
im a confusing little bugger arnt i!

Only confused of why you want to put a 2.5 diff on a 1.6 and changing the engine like for like

The diff will most probably be too longer ratio for the 1.6/1.8 and the accelleration will decrease dramatically

The 1.8 only has 10bhp more than the 1.6 but if your changing it because of bad cam wear on the 1.6 then fair enough

read a couple of posts down mate, only the 2.5 sports come with lsd's.
pretty sure that its a straight swap mate but i know sum1 will clear it up for me haha.

Ive got a 316i diff here (Newton Abbot) if you want one?
Have to be quick though,cars being scrapped very soon!

only the 2.5 sports come with lsd's.

Not just Sport's mate

323i with dogleg gearbox come's with a 3.25 lsd and you can get a 3.73 lsd which is not on a Sport
