Hi I need some help on brake hose sizes/fittings
I bought sone goodridge hoses for my 323i a couple of months ago and have only just got round to fitting them.
The problem is that the OE BMW rear hoses are female-male and the goodridge ones are female both ends, this is obviously incorrect but I've left it too long to return them. I'm thinking I can buy a female-female adaptor but I need to know the sizes.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Rob

Sounds like you got the wrong kit, they are listed as abs or non abs. They should be listed asrear discs or drums.
The 4 line kit is for cars with rear drums and the 6 line kit for rear discs (the 323 has rear discs)
I'd flog them on here or ebay and buy the correct kit.
Cheers,

that seems to make sense... I think I'll fit the fronts anyway as they should be the same and then buy a 6 hose kit and flog the remainder...
Does anyone know the Goodridge part no. for the six hose kit?

Sure you just aren't missing the male adaptors? Like these http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/pr ... ts_id=1552
The female ends are there to allow the hose to turn as you tighten the fitting, it'd kink otherwise and fail very quickly, these male adaptors fit into the calipers and accept the female hose ends.
You can see from the pic how they work.

Ok i just checked on the Goodridge website
I have part no SBW0011-4C -4 hose 316-325 (drums)
I need part no SBW0012-6C -6 hose 316-325 (discs)
I can't return them beacuse I've had them too long and now I've had my greasy hands on them too!
so they will be up for sale soon...

Yes he is but won't know it because the Goodridge product guide is wrong.Sanchez wrote:So this guys talking crap then.

The correct kit needs no adapters or additional parts.
I've emailed Goodridge directly about this issue over a year ago but they just weren't interested.

£90 for a set is taking the piss

I can't remember the company that supplied mine but they were about £60 inc Vat and post so Performance Tuning looks pretty good.
