Today i cleaned my engine bay and after driving it for twelve miles its started running lumpy and it doesnt do the business when i apply the gas.
Can anyone tell me what bit has the water in and how I could sort this?

M42, water in plug holes 100%

do you recon i should take the plugs out and check, i looked at the long rubbed bits which cover them up and they look fine.
could i have drowned the alternator, could the fact it was fine for a good twelve miles mean anything?

it was just a bit lumpy at first and now its so bad the neighbours are lookin whenever i start her up
I would just remove the plug leads and look down the holes, if theres water in there a good blast of compressed air (watch your face though) or a bit of kitchen towl should get it out but leave the plugs in place.
Also spraying the inside of the plug leads with WD40 or similar wouldnt hurt

i crammed a disk cloth in the plug holes and I am sure that it soaked up some water, it still is'nt running spot on but it sounds like more like it should, ill get some wd40 tomz,

to dry inside plug holes and sealed shroud leads, a good trick is to go for a drive to heat the engine then unplug the leads and leave them near the engine. this heat will dry them right out.
after that, a squirt of WD40 and you'll be off!

yeh, i've had to repeat the process a couple of times and it seems to be fine now,
the engine bay looks much better and all the different bits are easier to distinguish,
this has created me a bit of grief but I think it was well worth it,
for the record I used a high pressure and hot washer and only covered the other end of the spark plugs with a piece of plastic bag
