Touring headlight adjusters
Moderator: martauto
apparently they are hydraulic, there are two pipes running from the adjuster on the dash too the headlights,
but have been advised that they always shag out for some reason, dont know why though !, affraid thats all i can tell you at the mo because mine dont seem to work either and havent bothered looking at them yet ,aswell as the headlight wipers that dont work either!

mine don't work, and when I looked the pipes to the knee panel had actually been cut. Ah well...I even saw BrianMoore say that they were the only thing on a BMW that he'd accept as not working - so they must be pretty much useless!

Like trigger said, they are hydraulic, and once they fail can not be repaired.
A new adjuster and associated parts is about £90 from the dealer, i think my 318iS i just sold was the only E30 with working lamp adjusters!

The electric adjusters from an E34 can be adapted to fit, and are much more reliable.
