Hi,

The Touring has got a case of the squealy belts, and I thought the belt was just worn but it looks like the mount for the alternator and power steering pump is cracked hence those bits being a little looser than is ideal.

It was difficult to see what the part looks like, but it is on the passenger side of the engine and I think it is part number 1 in the following diagram http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=32&fg=15.

Can someone just confirm, and if they know roughly how much one will cost in the UK? (I tried to describe it myself to a dealer but failed miserably).

Cheers,

Get your self down the scrap yard, there are usually a few e30's in my local and it will only cost you a couple of quid.

Failing that the dealer will have the same diagram on his Etk on his computer , plus you have got the part number so you shouldnt have a problem.
