sparking problem

ok see wat ya think to this.
bmw e30 325i sport

turn the car over, it ya catch it 1st time it'll start, but if not ya got no chance. the reason for this that the plugs get socked in petrol.

so check the spark.

if you put the plug in the lead on top of the engine the spark is really week but if you hold the plug about 10 to 20mm away the spark is stong as it should be.

any ideas people????
