hi,since i changed my rad my temp has stayed just above the halfway, whereas before it always was about 1/3 on the gauge. ive changed the thermostat, and obv the rad and the water pump is only 5000 miles old. when i went to bleed it when i got back from work today i wound the bleed screw right out and although i could see the water down the hole it wasnt coming up and out of the bleed hole? the water level is fine, all hoses were very hot (if a little stiffer than usual? and the heater was on,any ideas??? cheers

yeh thats true. i can ever only remember the water pissing out when i blew through the header tank. this could be a bit dangerous just in case the water comes back through the hole when hottelski789 wrote:i did that, still no water came out, strange! normally they piss out,how can i check if my water pumps buggered? surely it would massively overheat if the water pump had broke? cheers

turn your ignition on, turn your heaters right up, open all the vents, and turn the fans right up...
now, remove the rad cap, and then unwind the bleed screw....
top up the rad bottle. you will notice the water will come pissing out the bleed screw hole, and will have loads of bubbles in it. thats the air!
keep topping up the rad until the water comes out the bleed hole with no air in it...
replace bleed screw, then replace rad cap, and everything should be ok...
