Just been to get some new spark plugs and was given the following, Bosch W7 DCR, however the ones I took out were W8 LCR and the "bentley" says W8 LCR ! Before I go and moan is the W7 DCR a better replacement ?

You really need the W8 LCR's, take them back and get the correct grade bosch or even better get NGK's. The NGK's are widely regarded as the best plugs for the 325i.

According to the "NGK" book the equivalent to the Bosch W8 LCR is the NGK ZGR5A. Got them in the car now and all seems good 
NGK BP6ES ? Can anyone confirm this

If your original leads look fine and don't have any visible signs of deteriation on the actual leads or in the plug ends then they'll be fine. If it ain't broke don't arse about with it.

a little tip for anyone who buys plugs on the high street.... never go to halfords/motorworld etc for plugs, they charge almost twice as much as a motor factor,
I've just bought NGK's for my touring and they were only 1.95 each, motorworld wanted £3.35 each! (ok not twice as much but a huge mark up and expensive when you need 6 at a time!)

just so happens i took the NGK mack daddys out of my old sport last week
the number is BPR6ES
i tried getting these from GSF like i did before and they said they couldn't get them for anymore
but i need some for my alpina! so i might clean them and bang them in for now. Bosch super plus are what i'm using in my 325i auto and it's also running nice. Not quite as smooth as the NGKs it seems but good.
These plugs are for a chrome bumper 325i with the higher compression. They run at a slightly colder temp than the plugs for a later 2.5 lump.
Don't know what they really do but my old sport ran so smooth with them and pulled better too
As for new leads don't bother the original ones will be ok as long as there are no splits etc in them.
NGK's with a new dizzy and rotor, u will be surprised at the improvement in acceleration, economy and in general, even the engine noise changes! Sounds more alive
