Have the sport now for about 4 months but water is getting in to the boot via the inner arch . Put my hand under the lip of the arch but is rusting , so does anyone no if this is a repair job or a replacement inner arch .

As a temporary repair, you can just bung it up with some fibreglass bridging paste (P40). This will at least stop the water from getting into the boot.

Ultimately, you really want to replace the inner arch (or at least part of it). BMW want approx £60 for the inner arch panel. You can either fit the whole thing, or cut it up and use sections from it. Unfortunately, if it's got as far as rusting through, the outer arch is probably on it's way out as well.

Cheers,

Ian.

Can the outer arch be replaced? I've noticed a rust spot in the RH boot well on my touring, and there are a couple of small (2mm) spots showing on the outside too.

yeah outer arches can be cut off and new welded in

my sports getting done soon
she needs welding on the inner arches also as well as the outers cutting off and new welding on

as ian says you could either fit the full innner arch or just cut sections from it best bet is find a friendly and good welder and get some quotes in
