Went for a mad thrash on monday night, all windows working ok. Decided we needed the roof down to star gaze and next morning windows wouldn't work unless the passenger door was open. As soon as the interior light plunger thingy was depressed they would'nt work again so have ended up taking the plastic bit off the door so they work.
Any ideas?

Had a similar problem on my Sport. Discovered that the windows circuit is earthed on the starter motor. Cleaned it up and it all works fine.

Problem here will affect heater fan and mirrors as well.

Andy
He's talking about the unloader relays. 12V+ from ignition on one side of the relays' coils, other terminal of the coils to earth through the low resistance windings of the starter motor.
When the starter is engaged, this "earth" point becomes 12V+, giving no voltage across the relay coils, so they switch off and "unload" the circuits connected to them. (Roof, windows, mirrors, heater fan and seat heaters, if you have them.)
