Hi all,

Reacently I changed my complete exhaust system for E30 325i

I installed a new BOYSEN centre box and a slightly used EARNST rear box.

I have no complain about the sound but some how I feel the system is bit restrictive.

Am I imagining things here

Did any one of you get rid of the BOYSEN centre box because it is restrictive?

the guy sold the used EARNST rear box told me, I could have just used any normal centre box for performance and OEM is restrictive. How true is this?

thanks all

apprently the standard system is wuite good apart from the cast mainfold and a megered 6 branch ytubular manifold will be better, but on the whole from the downpipes back, the oem system isn't too bad as far as i've heard

The only system I have heard that is better than standard is the Alpina system. I called Sytners up and they reckoned 5bhp over a standard system.

I think the lack of noise maybe is making you think its restrictive.

I like my exhaust as quiet as possible, I was hoping I could make it even more quieter.

when I travel windows down at normal speed say 50Kms / hour I think the sound is pretty loud specially accelerating

If you guys say, BOYSEN is one of the best, then I take your suggestion

thanks

Boysen make the original BMW exhausts and are excellent systems. However I have a Boysen centre box on my 2.7 and while it does make excellent power people comment on the exhaust note at full chat.

They can be on the throaty side.

Where did you buy the centre box ?. I got mine from Euro car prats.

Cheers,

I have no complaints about the sound. I just have this feeling I could have bit more power

I am from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, I got the BOYSEN centre box from a local dealer.
