runing temp of a 318is

can any one tell me the runing temp of a 318is and if the nidle is ment to be below half cos my temp sits at half way all the time when left runing or when your driving

your temp gauge should sit in the middle of your guage. We have had this discussion before. the thermostat and viscous fan should work together and keep the temp constant irregardless of driving conditions. if your needle too low - suspect thermostst is stuck open
too high thermostat stuck closed or viscous clutch replace or radiator requires flushing, or could be airlock etc etc


but is worth noting that the middle portion of the guage is not to the same scale as the outer portion, so small fluctations in the middle area are normal.
