dont know what's wrong with my 325i sport!? Can any one help

recently bought a 325i sport, she's a 89 delphin grey. was driving her for about a day when she suddenly started to heat up, i mean it hit the last notch and stayed there. pulled the bonnet and realised that the radiator was ice cold and the car was roasting, the heater has also stopped workin but there is hot water gettin to the pipes behind it. i know that most likely it is the heat gasket but the casr hasnt lost any power, she still pulls really well but obviously i cant drive it until its fixed. the car has had a new radiator and by the looks of things a new water pump. what u guys think? head away?

might sound silly but do you have any coolnt in it?
there may be an ir lock so try beeling the system because if your head gasket were to go then your rad and heater would be hot..red hot!
top it up with coolent and run it up ,squeezing the pipes and leave the top of the header tank!
thats realy got to be your problem,but.. as you have ccoked it the head gasket may well be gone now as a result of you air lock!
but you never no your luck!

More than likely the head will also be cracked, get it off, and get it tested.

Sounds like exactly what happened to me last week, I replaced the thermostat but the actual cause of the problem was an airlock. System just needed to be bled. Get that done before you do anything as drastic as taking the head off

stat closed and stuck .waterpump problem is it pumpiing?start with these -let us know.

i am assuming correct coolant level.


does really sound like your pump aint circulating the coolant .hot engine .cold rad.no cabin heating although pipes warm(your heater blower will cool the heat of the heater matrix inturn blowing cool air-hence no heating.

check the belt ,check for flow etc
