Good day , I've had a set of instrument decals sitting in a box for a number of years now with the intention of fitting them to the indicator OBC stalks etc to replace the now faded items. Has anyone done this before and if so could you provide advice on the best way of removing the old ones and fitting the new ones,
Thanks

I did this for the cruise control stalk - however realise that the trick will not work for OBC without a lot more effort. In my case, I sanded down the stalk using wet/dry sand paper of various thinckness and spray painted using a texture black paint to match OE plastic finish and then applied the sticker. Even then I ballsed up one section so had to remove it.

It's doable with OBC too, but you'll have to disassemble the unit first. The other option is to try acetone on a similar part that you don't care about damaging and see if that works.

These days, I'm seeing more folks using laser engraving to do this, which looks like a much more precise way to get accurate and aligned engraving on plastic parts - as usual not available in the UK.

Hi , thanks for your help, I was thinking along the same lines but I'm not sure how to transfer the decal off the sheet, tweezers will be the order of the day I expect. I mentioned the OBC not meaning itself but the control stalk , I'm still blessed with clear symbols on the unit its self.
