I’m building a track/sprint/fast road car.
Never came with ABS but have converted to 325i front struts and rear trailing arms all with abs rings.
The car is a bare shell right now so wiring etc is no problem for me to add.
Has anyone retrofitted ABS to a none ABS car? Is it worth adding?
I believe the e46 (possibly csl) units can be made to work and are programmable.
Retrofitting ABS

If you are gong to retrofit to a bare shell track car I wouldn't fit the original ABS I would fit the E46 MK60 unit as a standalone.
The standard E46 ABS unit will be fine but as it is a track car you may get benefit from am M3 unit. The M3 unit can be programmed with CSL settings if needed. There is a lot of BS out there and some (still) charging a lot of money for snake oil for this ABS.
Later wheel sensors are easy to fit (with a bit of fettiling) and cheaper to buy
Do a search on here for 'MK60' and it will give you an idea, and some of the previous discussions.
I will be fitting the regular unit to mine along with the rest of the E46 bits but have not had time to get my head around things.
I think Dan has done a few and possibly has a few bits to make it easier.

Awesome info, thanks very much. I’ll have a look into the mk60 unit.
Dan has my rear beam and trailing arms at the minute so can see me bending his ear about this soon enough then!
