central locking water damage
Moderator: martauto
I got my central locking work but then washed the car and the locking stopped working i pulled it apart again and the relay module was swimming ,its now dried out but still not working, if i press the brass things one locks the car open opens works great so i know my locking work so i am thing my relay is fried,is there a fix for this or is it a new board?
Have you checked the thermal cut-out in the central locking relay? It has a strip of metal held to a connector by low melting point solder, if it gets too hot the solder melts and it springs away. Do not use standard solder on it, there is probably enough of the original solder remaining to use again. There is a picture in the wiki.
so my car locks and unlocks when i manually press the copper switches on the module one lock the other unlocks,
IO can lock all the doors via the boot or drivers door but nothing opens all the doors, If i use the boot lock it only opens the boot and same with both doors
can anybody shed any light on my issue as i am tearing my hair out
