Afternoon

I’ve tried to get my front fog lights working to no avail. They did work before fine.
First the switch wasn’t working as the green light wasn’t illuminating on the dash but after a bit of tinkering it worked .
Only one fog was working on the drivers side so I thought it must be the bulb on the passenger side .
I changed the bulb and now neither one works.

Rear fog lights work ok

Any help appreciated as I am sure it’s a simple fix.

Car is a pre facelift 1990 cabriolet

Have a good look at the earths on the fogs under the bonnet as these can be dodgy.

If you look at the left side by the ignition module you will see a heavy wire bolted to the side, the L & R fog light earths are attached to this by an in-line crimp, I had my left fog go and that is where it was.

All comments by me should be taken in the right sprite, Jack Daniels is fine.

So I am checking corrosion or a broken earth ?

Yes. Serves fogs, indicators head and sides I believe. Usually a broken earth.

Earth both lights on their own to a known good earth point with a piece of wire and clips.
Sounds like this could be it !!
