Hi - I’ve just purchased a 320i and I was thinking of putting 16x7 wheels on it just so i can run modern tyres. I can see michelin do a PS4 tyre in the 205/55/16 size. Has anybody had experience of running such a set up, especially 55 aspect ratio? I used a fitment calculator to see how they would look and it seems like they have a square profile rather than balooning or stretching so I’m quite happy to take the plunge and see how they go. What are your opinions?

205 50 16 is the preferred tyre for a 16x7. That's what Alpina used. It also helps to keep the speedometer correct as the rolling radius is closer to the original setup.

I think these are 205/50/16, but they are stacked-up somewhere so I can't check. And Hartges are 7.5J. But apart from that....

If you already have 15s there are plenty of modern tyres available. Hankook or Vredestein were highly rated choices last time I looked.
