well following on from my post about my drivers side window packing up i mow have another problem.
the heater/blower fan has packed in, it wont work on any speed,
i've checked the fan itself, that moves freely by hand, also the resistor is a new one so i know it aint that.
i need to get the blower working so i can blled the coolant properly so i can get the car in for an mot.
i've done a search & nothing that comes up seems to work,
so, anyone got any ideas?

well for some reason while working my way around the possible causes & drawing a blank on most of them, i went ti check the green/black wire on the starter.
but, like an idiot, i had left the battery connected, i dropped the spanner on the starter & after a few sparks, the heater fan kicked into life,
no idea how that caused it to start working but it did, left it a couple of hours & the fan still worked.

if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

It probably arced somewhere and welded a bad connection.
Cars don't like standing especially when its damp and connections that are not as tight as they should be start to corrode it can be a real nightmare and leave you chasing your tail.
I have had to do it before, take every connection off, electrical cleaner and small pencil wire brush, crimp so it goes on tight. Bit of dielectric grease to protect. I'm sure it won't be the last time I do it either.
