Hi all - wondering if anyone here has a recommendation for where I could get a replacement/rebuilt SI board that will work in an E30 M3, or were I could get mine repaired, please?

Thanks,
Charlie

Haven’t had this problem yet other than changing batteries. How did it get damaged, did the batteries leak. Try the people who repair ECUs an see if they will have a go. Put up a picture of the board and someone will know on here. Place is full of smart dudes.

I'm not really sure what has happened to it. Batteries hadn't leaked. The rev counter has been pretty much useless since I got the car. I tried another cluster, which worked fine. Then borrowed the SI board out of the working cluster ad put it in the original cluster - worked fine. Changed the batteries on the original SI board, replaced it in original cluster, same issue (though the service lights now work). I'm sure it will just be a simple component having failed on the board, but I have reached the extent of my diagnostic/repair capabilities...

All you can do then is try some of the ECU repair shops and see if they will look at it. I would imagine it would be difficult to get a second hand one and expensive. Try asking in WANTED on here if anyone has one. Don’t hold your breath though.

That’s a good find but it doesn’t list as for an m3. Maybe an email to see if it would work

Figured I'd take a gamble with buying a used cluster (reported to be in full working order) and see whether I can salvage the SI board from it. Will report back on how it goes.

I would be interested to know how that works out. My si board is playing up too.

Seems to have worked out very well replacing the SI board with the used one - luckily the battery voltage seemed fine so didn't need to switch the batteries on the replacement board either. Cluster is now working fine.
