Already fixed, and was not the coil, most likely parts at fault were either TPS or Coolant sensor.
BMW and Opel, both RWD, both german, both good fun

I'd just like to thank the OP and responders on this topic, I was lost with a similar issue and this has steered me toward my own solution.

The zone once again proves what an invaluable resource it is :D
