I found that the oil spray bar on my 316i was blocked and the cam shaft looks very worn. I've replaced the spray bar and it still works at the moment but I think I'll have to do something about it soon. I can't upgrade to a bigger engine yet because I'm too young and I can't get insurance. So it looks like I'm going to need to rebuild the head on my M40.
I was reading this, (http://www.unixnerd.demon.co.uk/m40.html), which says the M43 uses a slightly different head design with roller style cam followers. Does anyone know how to use these parts and which ones I'd need (if it's even possible) for my M40?? I saw a 316i for sale a while ago which said it was done.
The M43 also has a timing chain instead of a belt can I use that too?
Thanks
Rob
