Does anyone know if there is any differences between 325ix ABS and a standard e30 ABS?
I ask because I'm thinking in retrofitting one on my 320i vert, and I found a full 325iX abs with pump, lines, sensors and computer module.
I will also have to swap front struts and rear hubs or something, so I'm not sure to go with the mod, but a full ABS system could be a good starting point.

Quick search of the ETK shows that the pumps are the same across all E30s, but the ECU is unique to ABS models.
Thanks.
Yes it seems iX has a different control unit but same pump.
I checked also the lines, iX seems to have different lines too.
320i and 325i are identical btw.
So for what I understand there is only 1 version of ABS for e30 325i/320i, they did't change pump/control unit during the years. It's right?
All ABS versions have 2 sensors for the front wheels and two sensors for the rear wheels attached to the wheel hubs? No abs sensors in the diff?

All the above is correct AFAIK. You will need hubs that are drilled/machined to take the sensors, so unless yours is a late car, these will probably need to be changed. Wheel bearings will also have to be the ABS versionNagash wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 5:16 pm

Pipework is considerably different, so normally you'd start from scratch and make up nearly all new pipes. The existing brake master cylinder has separate outlets for each front brake, so one needs to be blanked off, since the ABS pump only has one feed for both front brakes.
Note that the .two front ABS sensors look very similar, but are handed. Get them the wrong way around, and the ABS will not work.
The E30 ABS works well, but only has one modulated feed to both rear brakes. I've heard that E36 ABS can be fitted fairly easily to E30s, and overcomes this problem, so may be worth considering if starting from scratch.

The IX has a primitive traction control system, there are two sensors located behind the front strut turrets toward the windscreen side. I’m sure the system works with the ABS. Worth bearing in mind.
I’ve had my IX thrashing around in deep snow and it’s activated the ABS under light braking.
