Hi. Does anyone have any recommendations on a chip supplier for an m42b18? Unfortunately Speedtouch is not able to supply me a chip as he does not stock my particulare DME number.
There are few out there for my ECU number but not many actually quote which DME they are for.
I have found one a Turbonoz.co.uk. Has anyone used them before?
My ECU is 0261200175 and DME is 1267356346.
Thanks for your assistance.

I don't know of Turbonoz. I tried a generic chip in mine and it made no difference although it took off the rev limiter, a remap at Circuit Motors by Paul Shepherd was the best solution for me.
If you haven't done it already I would have the injectors refurbed and calibrated and put the car on a dyno to see what it makes as it is. This engine as standard makes 75 bhp/l and there are no massive power increases to be had without spending big money.

He's saying 75bhp per litre, which is about right, given the 318is' factory figure of 136bhp from 1.8 litres.

At one point in time, 100bhp per litre was considered a race-engine level of tune from a N/A petrol engine, e.g., such as the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO - 300bhp from a 3-litre V12, running carbs.

Was the M10 block in the F1 cars used for that ?Speedtouch wrote:At one point in time, 100bhp per litre was considered a race-engine level of tune from a N/A petrol engine, e.g., such as the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO - 300bhp from a 3-litre V12, running carbs.

It was certainly used for racing cars, but at well over 100bhp per litre in the heady days of the turbo era, when they developed in the region of 1,500bhp from 1.5-litre engines (i.e., 1,000bhp per litre) for qualifying sessions.

Thanks for the comments. An interesting tangent to the original question but all good:)
I dont think I want to be the first to test out Turbonoz.
I have had everything serviced that I can think of servicing including the fuel injectors.
I will visit the dyno once I get to the end of my maintenance list (currently working through suspension, brakes and paintwork) and I am satisfied that its as back to original as possible.
