Hi,
The brake pad wear indicator light is illuminated.
I have checked the front and rear pads and sensor connectors and the near side front was not making contact so I have repaired the plug.
The light will occasionally go out after driving many miles but will then it will come on again the following morning.
I am convinced the sensor circuits are ok.
Any advice on why the dash light keeps coming on will be appreciated.
Many thanks
Peter

There is a recent thread on this common failure HERE The usual cause is solder failing on a large resistor behind the instrument cluster, as detailed in that thread and the wiki.
The light on is now an MoT failure, the system does not have to be working, but the light must not illuminate. So if you cannot get it working, as I could not, you have to ensure the bulb does not light.

It is a simple DIY repair for anyone who knows which end of a soldering iron gets hot. Cluster is easy to remove, and comes apart easily. Only thing to remember is not to place the instruments face down and damage the needles.
