So my car has developed an annoying problem.

From cold starts fine and runs perfect up to temp but then if I stop for say 10mins or so it cools to around 2/3 temp it has a misfire from 1.5k to 2k at any throttle load. Once it's up to temp again it's fine, if it's been left for a hour or so and nearly fully cooled it's fine too just the warm start that's the issue

I've changed the spark plugs for new ones and fitted 4x second hand coil packs (presumed good) although after swapping them it actually felt alittle worse.

Any ideas? Could it be a temperature sensor?

More throttle at the same rpm doesn't seam to clear it or effect it I have to change gear, as the car gets warmer the band it misfires in gets slightly smaller till it clears.

Assuming its an m42, I had the same on my 318ti so changed the coil packs and leads and voila !!!
Maybe you can find someone with a good known set to try ?

As I've posted on here before, I once bought a 1.8 M40 2 door E30 extremely cheaply with symptoms similar to these.
It had been looked at by 'professionals', but they'd failed to solve it, and the owner had given up on it
One second hand genuine blue sensor later, and it was back in full working order.
