Hi guys
I was reading the e30wiki last night and came across a section that’s said to gain more power, you can delete the cat and the lambda sensor. The cat is obvious, but what do you do with the lambda sensor, obviously remove, unplug it and weld up hole, but then what. The thread has no more info. I think the thread wasupgrades, bottom of page under exhaust section!!. Does it just unplug and that’s it, or does it need bridging etc??. I want to lose both lambda and cat nd any advise would be great
Lambda delete

You won't gain any power that you'll notice on any E30 by removing a cat., but you might just notice an improvement in fuel economy, especially if you have a M40 engine.
Removing a lambda sensor won't give any gains at all, but if you insist, an M20 ECU will automatically compensate for the missing signal, but an M40 will either need a plug and socket pushed together in the wiring loom, or the addition of a potentiometer and a few wires to set idle CO on late cars.

Hi Brian
The car is a 91 318i convertible. Could you tell me more regarding the plug if that’s the route I need to take. Does it just plug into the lambda plug and is it just a loop?
Kind regards. Kristian

The plug and socket is in a grey/black wire that can be found under the bulkhead wiring cover, roughly in the middle. Pushing it together connects the ECU to a potentiometer for adjusting CO levels, which I'd expect to be present, behind a blank plug, on the side of a '91 air flow meter.
