8 year old fault( getting very very anoying).

I've had the same fault since I bought the car in 2010.The symptoms are at about 1500 rpm-2000 the car kangaroos especially when you roll off the thottle from 50,60 mph approx, and when you blip the thottle it fills like its misfiring on one cylinder and then the revs drop right down and it nearly stals but the revs pic up to 1500,also driving at 30,40 at about 1500/2000 it kangaroos rill bad.If I floor it and go though the gears it pulls like a train,it maybe still misfiring but you can't fill it.ok the the things I've tried and changed are as follows - second hand (sh) plug leads, new plugs, new fuel filter, new hit cap and rotor arm, new blue temp senior, new main relay,(sh) afm,new Tps,(sh)CPS.checked for air leaks, compression test perfect.Going back to the air leak I'm not convinced, the machnic sprayed WD40 or something like that in obvious places but no change,I've heard you can do a smoke test to find for definite but I've yet to find someone with the tool to do it.The only thing I've not done is service the fuel injectors which are meant to done every 60k but the feed back from the Zone is it proberly won't make any difference.Thats about all I can tell you.

Has the wiring to the throttle position sensor been checked? There is a connector beneath the throttle body (I can't remember what it's called c19 or c101?) I remember checking mine when I had issues years ago, the pins need to be checked and also the cover needs to be pulled back and the wires need to be checked where they come into the connector.
Other than that the only other thing I can think of is that the second hand AFM may have issues with the tracks? Have you opened either of them up to see if the tracks are good?
I'm sure some more knowledgeable people will be along to advise soon.

Cheers for the feed back,I haven't checked the wiring you were on about under the Tps.The second hand AFM gave me exactly the same symptoms,so could be both faulty or it's something else causing it.

The connector that gives problems on a facelift M20 is the round plug and socket under the inlet manifold that connects the injector loom to the rest of the engine loom. The symptoms that you describe don't really allude to problems there.
The E30 uses a lean mixture idle map to control emissions. When you accelerate the TPS switches to a map more suited to power, so the TPS must not only switch, it must swicth immediately the throttle leaves its stop, otherwise there'll be a nice big flatspot, exacerbated by injectors which aren't flowing as much fuel as they should.
AFM and TPS plugs and wiring don't normally give any problems, but anything can fail if abused enough over time.
Are you sure the TPS is correctly adjusted, as well as actually working?
