Hi Peeps,

tried to search elsewhere but no joy.

Recently serviced the car and had new alternator and battery changed also, and have noticed that when I turn the heat on the dials move up, so basically when I put the heat on the fuel level goes up, by a fraction.

Is there a reason why this does this?

Also I get a intermittent noise like something is caught in the wheels and sometimes get a noise like something has hit somethng. and I have checked. I have checked under and cannot see anything. car seems fine on the handling. but just a tad worried.

Does your car have drum brakes? I Had a similar noise issue on my corolla and finally found out what the noise was when the handbrake shoes in the drum completely fell apart.

thats all right then you got whats know as a win win situation. warm toasty car and more petrol lol.

sounds like your going to have to jack up front or back and take the wheels off, get a led touch and have a good look, something is catching now and again could be in the brakes, check all the brake pad sensors and wires from them are secured and not flopping about. check the suspension springs are not damaged and all bump stops are sound. and ensure all wheel arch plastic liner are secure.

The new alternator could have a faulty voltage regulator and the voltage is going up under load. Test it with a voltmeter to confirm.
