Perhaps the Zone Wiki should be altered to include the FPR as a priority item to check if the fuel consumption is excessive...

That would lead to yet more random and unnecessary part changing.Speedtouch wrote:Perhaps the Zone Wiki should be altered to include the FPR as a priority item to check if the fuel consumption is excessive...
Changing the wiki to highlight the importance of measuring fuel pressure as a diagnostic tool would be the way to go.

The FPR was perfect, it was the injectors that were the problem, possibly the breather pipe aswell, once those were rebuilt/replaced I damaged the FPR but obtained a drastic increase in mpg even with the damaged FPR.
I had 3 leaking injectors but the car starting/driving smoothly etc, emissions were suitable to pass MOT etc
Adding a section to the fuel issues page noting that poor injectors can lead to greatly reduced MPG despite a car running smoothly, my car was running so well that I really didn't think an injector rebuild would make a difference but it was night and day in terms of MPG.
Also as Brian says, FPR diagnostics would be helpful for someone suffering warm start issues etc.
