My car's a prefacelift 323i (1985). As many of you will know, the prefacelift cars sit VERY high to begin with! I've fitted H&R lowering springs (-20mm), and it now sits much better.
My car was originally supplied with -and still bears- the 'sports suspension' option (i.e., yellow shocks but with standard ride height), but these shocks are now worn out and need replacing.
What I'm struggling with is whether to go for B6 or B8.... Searching here tells me that the B8 is for all lowered cars and a shorter shock absorber (in length).
Does this have any bearing whatsoever on the car's ride height and can I assume that the B8 will have less 'travel' under compression?

My car isn't an everyday driver, so I'm happy to have a hard ride and the cost seems to differ very little between B6 & B8.

Go for the B8, but do yourself a favour and trim the front internal bump stop down to half the length.
