Fully rebuilt my m20b25. When car is revved there's a knocking/tapping sound coming from below glovebox to middle of dash. Gets louder and quicker when going up revs.

No noise on idle, what could this be

Sounds like a plastic noise right under glovebox. Reved engine whilst feeling gearbox and engine and can't feel a noise . pretty sure its not either. Could it hardly be a short shifter I fitted?

When revved to 2000 revs it starts tapping. Can feel it tapping inside heater matrix box area

Sounds like you've got the heater hoses fitted the wrong way - the hose from the head goes to the bottom heater stub.
