Ok guys,

Constructive advice appreciated.

E30 325i Sport 88

Idling at a constant 1500rpm, failed emissions 5..46% carbon and is running rich.

I have done the following.

Checked the thermostat - replaced - she was running pretty cool.
Checked the Blue & Brown Plug for resistance
Adjusted the throttle cable the whole way out.
Took off the KN Cone Filter and replaced with standard AirBox.

Next thing I was going to do was check if the AFM screw has been tampered with and adjust to suit.

Is there anything else obvious I am missing out here?.

Thank you for the help as well.

First thing to note is that high CO doesn't necessarily indicate rich running. An engine that is running lean enough to cause a misfire (which isn't always obvious on a 6 pot), will also give out high CO as a result of unignited fuel passing straight through.
Have you checked out the injector loom plug and socket under the inlet manifold, either by thorough inspection, or by measuring the blue temp. sensor at the ECU plug?

Brian,

Thank you for your response.

I havent done it from the ECU yet, as I cant find the correct readings that they should be tested at..

Blue 350 ohms when hot.
