Hi Guys.

The situation is, I am moving the wiring out of the way so the engine bay can be painted. Now all the headlight harnesses have been unclipped and they are all lose, so that takes care of the front end.

The issue is, I am not sure how to make way for the area under/around the fusebox.

First of all I thought if I de-pin every wire from the fusebox, I can push all the pins out from under the fusebox and remove the entire fusebox housing / enclosure.

I did this and now I'm stuck, it seems that all this wiring isn't going to fit through the hole in the bottom of the fuseblock to be able to remove the fuseblock, I am unsure if it's going to make it, and this would require de-pinning the C101 connector too to give it a chance. Can it be done?

Now the question I have is, how hard is it to push the wiring from the interior side, as in unclip - unpin or disconnect the wiring as it goes inside the car and pull it out from the engine bay - allowing me to move that fusebox away to free up that area. Would there be plugs/connectors that will unplug at the interior side so I don't have to rip the entire dash loom out?

Because as it stands, the fusebox does not have enough movement to be able to swing it out of the way, so I don't know which way to go about it.

Thanks.

Pity you didn't ask first, as we could have told you dismantling the fusebox isn't the way to do it.
As long as the seats are out of the way, the door threshold trims off, and the boot liner is out, removing (and refitting) the body loom isn't that difficult.
The loom runs back the bottom of the LH sill, with three branches across the car - one across behind the dash, one across the rear seat area, and one across the boot rear panel.
There are two dash looms. One that runs across the top of the dash, which unplugs from the body loom next to the accessories socket, and another which runs behind the radio area, which is an integral part of the body loom.

I guess it looks like it requires for almost half the interior body loom to be pulled through the firewall to do it this way.

Has anybody successfully pulled the engine bay loom through the fusebox hole without the need to cut the terminals off, I'd rather save myself the time of re crimping all those terminals, but the main issue is that bulky C101 connector.

Hi Guys.

I gave it a go and it ended up being possible. First I pulled the loose pins/wires through the fusebox hole, then the connectors inside the fusebox. Now I began pulling the entire wiring loom through slowly threading it through. The C101 connector comes out last once everything is out.
