Temp Needle Going up when electrical things turned on

So this only happens when the engine is running, if for example i turn the radio on or the headlights the temperature needle will jump up slightly. If i then turn the engine off and do the same thing the gauge does not move.

Another point to note is my starter seams slightly weak when the car is hot, it's been refurbished too so it rules it out.

Any help is much appreciated, i'm thinking a ground, but i've checked them and they all seam good.

Have you tried removing the clocks and having a look at the two brass screws on the back of the housing.
Would've thought there would be plenty of 'how to' on the net or possibly the wiki on here. :)

One of these is the earthing point for the temp. gauge, and the other for the fuel gauge. Going by the description of the fault, there's a good chance this is the problem.
